Welcome To Trip of a Lifetime

Think back to most memorable travel experience. Where did you visit? What did you do? And most importantly what did you learn from your experience?

Regardless of destination or purpose, travel changes you. It forces you to step out of your comfort zone, meet new people, and learn about yourself in unexpected ways. At Trip of a Lifetime, we believe that all students, regardless of income or social background, should have the opportunity to travel and have made it our mission to provide travel experiences to as many underserved students as possible.

To date, Trip of a Lifetime has raised over $800,000 and has provided travel experiences for over 500 students. Our main program is our summer travel scholarships, which provide 20-30 students every year with full scholarships to participate in teen tours and community service programs. We're also recognized by the New York City Department of Education and have been mentioned in theWall Street Journal and Westchester Magazine.

We encourage you to explore our website to learn more and see how travel can change you.

Trip of a Lifetime was an experience that as a parent, I could not provide for my daughter. As a parent I am extremely grateful that my daughter was chosen to participate in the program. I am extremely grateful to the entire Trip of a Lifetime team and it’s donors for helping make this dream a reality for my daughter. As a parent was extremely pleased and impressed with the professionalism of the Trip of a Lifetime program and American Trails West, from our orientation session, to the time my daughter arrived home.

I would positively recommend the program to any parent. The experience was invaluable, my daughter had an amazing experience. She came home with amazing stories of memories she will always treasure. The program made sure that she, and all the participants, were safe and had a wonderful experience. This experience helped my daughter want more than what her immediate environment could offer, set higher goals for herself and it sparked an interest in travel.
