The Western Skies tour taught me, showed me, and encouraged me to do many things. I am so lucky to have taken part in the 2013 Trip of a Life Time. This trip has influenced a lot of changes on me. One of the activities that influenced the most change on me was surfing. Surfing showed me that even though something may look extremely challenging doesn't necessarily mean it is. This activity took place in one of my favorite stops San Diego. San Diego was one of my favorite stop because we went to this cool restaurant named Dick's Last Resort, I also went surfing for the first time. The western Skies took me around the Western, Northern, and Southern hemisphere. Another stop that changed me was going to Arizona and Utah. Those stops changed me because of the national parks. The Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, and Zion park changed me by showing how beautiful nature is. The parks showed me that not every place has to be man made to look beautiful. I also loved it because I was able to take amazing photos of the places I may not visit again. My favorite park was the Bryce Canyon. Bryce Canyon was another one of my favorites stops because there was a lot to see and the trail wasn't that long. I also enjoyed the tour because one of the councilors was a geologists major. That helped me understand what I was looking at and I also learned new and interesting facts about rocks. The staff member on this trip were great because they encouraged us to try new things and help us face your fears. The other teens on the trip were great also because no one judged you, everyone had friends, and we all were around the same age. It was easy to make new friends because most of us came by ourselves. I also loved the hotels. My favorite hotel was the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas. It was my favorite hotel because not only was it the biggest one on the trip but, it also had a lazy river, wavy pool, and a regular pool as well. Las Vegas was fun because we got to see the strip, Old Vegas, and relax. I felt that the most sad day for me on the trip was going back home because you made great friends and also experienced a Trip of a Life Time with all your new friends. Another thing I loved about the trip was the great restaurant we went to for dinner not only was the food good but the dessert were delicious. Another place that I enjoyed was Los Angeles because not only we went to Disney Land, Universal Studios, City Walk, and got to see a famous movie theater where movies premiere at. We also got to see Beverly Hills, this little lunch stop called The Groove, and Venice Beach. I enjoyed going to Venice beach because there were many different people there and reminded me of one of the beaches they use to record movies. Another thing I loved about Los Angeles was the City Walk. The City Walk was the last night and while we were waiting for everyone to meet back with us, we decided to do limbo with strangers, from a slinky we got from dinner. It was so much fun because we got a lot of people to do it but also were told to stop from the cops because of the big crowd we had. I think the last night was one of the best but saddest because the next day we were going home. This trip has changed me in various ways and I can't thank or appreciate Trip of a Lifetime so much for letting me experience one of the best two weeks of my life. With out Trip of a Life Time my summer probably would have never been as awesome as this year. Thank you sooooo soooo much Trip of a Life Time for this wonderful experience !!!!! I would love to do something like this again.
